Compact 7 is compatible with ARM, x86 and MIPS processor architectures.

Developers can customize and build a broad range of small footprint specialized devices with real-time capabilities using Platform Builder, a powerful embedded-specific development tool that works as an add-in to Microsoft’s familiar development environment Visual Studio 2008.

This download includes an add-in for Visual Studio 2008. Windows Embedded Compact 7 supports both Visual Studio 2008 Professional and Team Edition. You will need to have Visual Studio Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed. If you don’t already have Visual Studio 2008 installed, you can download an evaluation copy of Visual Studio 2008 Professional from the Microsoft download center. If you don’t have Visual Studio SP1 installed, click here for download information and instructions.
