King story is a pixel art style arcade game with a difference, and this difference is the fact that the game comes with a fairly deep and complex story, as opposed to most arcade games which simply tell you to do things solely for game play. While the lack of story isn't a bad thing, the inclusion of one if very interesting, especially when it is the same level of depth as in king story. Your land is being destroyed by a storm, and you must get to the bottom of the mystery, through a series of smaller seemingly insignificant quests.

The game play of king story is fairly unique and can be easiest described as “speed platforming”.
