This is a small but powerful tool for multivariable subspace identification. It implements the so called Multivariable Output Error State Space algorithm. The identification is carried out in two steps by using the nested function technique. The main function returns a score vector for the subspace obtained from the input and output data. From the score vector, users can easily determine an appropriate order for the model to be identified. Then, by calling the function handle, also returned by the main function, with the determined order, the state space matrices are obtained. An example is included to show how to use this tool.

Gstat is an open source (GPL) computer code for multivariable geostatistical modelling, prediction and simulation. Gstat can calculate sample variograms, fit valid models, show variograms, calculate (pseudo) cross variograms, fit valid linear models of coregionalization (S extension only), and calculate and fit directional variograms and variogram models (anisotropy coefficients are not fitted automatically). Kriging and (sequential) conditional simulation are done under (simplifications of) the universal cokriging model. Any number of variables may be spatially cross-correlated. Each variable may have its own number of trend functions specified (being coordinates, or so-called external drift variables).

GloptiPoly is a MATLAB/SeDuMi add-on to build and solve convex linear matrix inequality (LMI) relaxations of the (generally non-convex) global optimization problem of minimizing a multivariable polynomial function subject to polynomial inequality, equality or integer constraints. The software generates a series of lower bounds monotonically converging to the global optimum. Global optimality is detected and isolated optimal solutions are extracted automatically. Numerical experiments show that for most of the small- and medium-scale problems described in the literature, the global optimum is reached at low computational cost.

The online controller is implemented as a nested function, hence the internal model, internal states, control parameters are all stored inside of the workspace of the setup program so that the interface of the online controller is significantly simplified. A 2-CSTR example is included to demonstrate the usage of this tool.
