- Compressed Sensing MRI Phantom
- License: Freeware
- Price: 0.00

CSPHANTOM is a test phantom tailored to compressed sensing MRI algorithm development. It is designed to be non-sparse under a gradient transform and to contain features difficult to reproduce with partial Fourier sampling. We hope that this phantom can be used to evaluate the quality and accuracy of compressed sensing MRI reconstruction algorithms in the noise-free domain so that real-world applications of CS MRI may be improved..

Simplified MRI is a simulation application that can teach you more about Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Your head is full of tiny radio transmitters (the nuclear spins of the hydrogen nuclei of your water molecules). In an MRI unit, these little radios can be made to broadcast their positions, giving a detailed picture of the inside of your head.

This method computes an accurate continuous approximation of the DW-MRI signal using adaptive kernels (A. Barmpoutis et al. "Adaptive kernels for multi-fiber reconstruction", In the Proceedings of IPMI, 2009). The approximation is based on Fig. 3 of the article which shows the plot of the DW-MRI signal attenuation from water molecules whose diffusion is restricted inside a cylindrical fiber of radius rho=5 micrometers and length L=5mm using b-value = 1500s/mm2..

- MRI slice viewer
- License: Shareware

The three-dimensional viewing of MRI images can help understand the position of (double) oblique slices as often used in cardiac MRI. The function returns a figure handle which can be used as input argument to display a second slice in the same figure. the other output is a handle for the slice surface. With this the transparency and visibility can be controlled. I noticed that if I use the figure toolbar selection tool to select and delete slices, Matlab can crash. Setting the 'visible' property is a much better method as it is reversible. As a demo I have added a section to rotate the axes and after a simple edit also make a movie.

- Function for Viewing MRI Slices
- License: Shareware

This simple function allows the user to view the saggital, coronal and horizontal slices of a certain .nii format MRI scan. All you need to do is enter the x, y and z coordinates of a certain point to be able to view the slices that pass through that certain point. Colormap is set automatically to gray, but can be changed if desired. The function uses the load_nii function from Jimmy Shen's "Tools for NIfTI and ANALYZE image" toolbox, and will not work without it..
