The Eye4Software Coordinate Calculator is an easy to use tool to perform map or GPS coordinate conversions. The software can be used to transform a single coordinate or a batch of coordinates read from a comma separated, database or ESRI shapefiles. The software is shipped with a MS Access database file, containing more then 3500 ellipsoid, map datum and map grid definitions around the world, which are identified by their EPSG code. It is possible to modify the definitions of all datums and map grids stored in the database. You can also create user defined map grids and map datums, so you can extend the database with newly introduced map datums.

- Robust solver for Lambert's orbital-boundary value problem
- License: Freeware
- Price: 0.00

A Lambert-orbital boundary value problem can be stated as "Find the orbit/trajectory of a spacecraft that flies from position [r1] to [r2], taking a time [tf] and making [m] complete orbits before arriving at [r2]. " The solution to each Lambert-problem is NOT unique; one can travel to [r2] via the long way or the short way, and for [m > 0] there are almost always two ellipses that satisfy the boundary conditions, so that [m > 0] has four distinct solutions. This function solves any Lambert problem *robustly*. It can handle short-way solutions (the default), long way solutions (by passing negative [tf]), or left-branch (default) or right-branch (by passing negative [m]) solutions in case [m > 0].

Displays the real and imaginary parts of complex functions, or conformal transformations. Bulit-in functions include sine cosine tan sinh cosh exp and Log, and these can be combined to produce a wide range of expressions such as tan(z-2*i) - sin(z*z). These expressions can be displayed in terms of their real and imaginary parts, or used to tranform shapes from the z to the w plane.
Functions can be plotted along 'slices' so that the value of the real or imaginary parts of a function along any line in the z plane can be displayed.
Where appropriate the integral of a function along a path can be calculated numerically and displayed .

(1) Use the mouse to click and drag the red data points within the dotted gray box, and observe the changes in the conic section in real time. (2) This function requires the symbolic math toolbox and is tested using Matlab version 7.1 (R14) service pack 3. (3) This function illustrates some techniques in GUI manipulation, computation of a conic-sections using the general determinant expression, and the "ezplot" function. Nevertheless, the code is developmental and hasn't been polished or heavily commented. (4) "ezplot" is a really handy function, but it was not designed for speed. Using it repeatedly for animation slows things down enough for older machines to exhibit some lag in the animation.

This is my second submission. This gui plots up to 3 implicit functions F(x,y). The left-hand side generates random integers for A,B, and C then the user is expected to determine the type of the conic. The program checks the answer and displays true or false. Additionally the user may want to type in his/her own coefficients, that is allowed as well. Degenerate cases: There is a m-file attached which should be run before using this GUI, because it doesn't calculate degenerate cases. The reason was simply logistical, no place was left on the panel for other coefficients. Please contact me if you are interested in using this in your classroom, I may be interested in an educational research on its effectiveness.

Find the projection of point P in R^n on the ellipsoid E = { x = x0 + U*(z.*radii) : |z| = 1 }, where U is orthogonal matrix of the orientation of E, radii are the axis lengths, and x0 is the center. Or on generalized conic E = { x : x'*A*x + b'*x + c = 0 }. The projection is the minimization problem: min | x - P | (or max | x - P|) for x in E. Method: solve the Euler Lagrange equation with respect to the Lagrange multiplier, which can be written as polynomial equation (from an idea by Roger Stafford).
