A Matlab implementation of a model of the migration of 3T3 fibroblast cells in social context, developed for the scientific paper "Migration of cells in a social context" currently under review for publication in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA.

The model simulates the migration of individual cells and takes into account both cell-cell signaling through a cell-secreted chemical and direct cell-cell collisions. These cells move by forming traction-force-generating membrane protrusions known as pseudopodia. The model discretizes the perimeter of each cell into a number of points which can form pseudopodia, and evolves the cell movement according to Newton's second law of particle motion applied to each cell, with the active pseudopodia providing the propulsion force.
