The program produces a set with seven parameters of the sapatial Helmert transformation valid for an specific area, with which then arbitrary coordinates of the area can be transformed from one reference system into another with high accuracy. The seven transformation parameters are computed with a set of individual identical points. Those are points with known coordinates in both reference systems. For the computation at least three identical points must be present. In practice you will be anxious to use more identical points than those three necessities. Cartesian coordinates or geographical coordinates with ellipsoidal height using the ellipsoid dimensions are suitable.

NGRAV computes the normal gravity value (in m/sec^2 unit) of a point with the geodetic latitude defined in GRS80 ellipsoid,which is the more up-to-date and internationally adopted reference ellipsoid. The normal gravity value is used for the computation of the gravity anomaly which removes the effect caused by the Earth oblateness and centrifugal acceleration from the observed gravity value and which is used frequently in geophysics and geodesy for the physical interpretation of the gravity accelerations and for the solution of the boundary value problems. In 1975, Vincenty published a rapidly converging algorithm for computing the distance between points on an ellipsoidal earth. The algorithm is precise to within a few millimeters. Since then, his algorithm has since seen significant implementation in geodesy and engineering. After adjusting the algorithm to converge in all cases (the original suffers from convergence failure in a few outlying cases), I have provided it here in MATLAB form. The function itself does not require the Mapping Toolbox, but I have included a (commented-out) code section following the body of the function, which you can use if you have the Mapping Toolbox to compare the accuracy of this algorithm to spherical earth distances.
