The Svchost.exe process is a Windows system process for services that run from dynamic-link libraries (DLLs). The original svchost.exe file is located in C:\Windows\System32, but numerous malwares and trojans use the same file and process name to hide their activities. The free Svchost Process Analyzer lists all svchost instances and checks the services they contain. This makes it easy to uncover Svchost worms like the infamous Conficker worm. Svchost Process Analyzer is a 100% freeware program from www.neuber.com. There is absolutely no installation required. Simply download and run the software.

he Svchost.exe process is a process used to host Windows services - each instance of this process usually hosts more than one service. The problem is, if one of these Svchost.exe processes has an issue (for example if it starts using 99% of the CPU) then there is no easy way to find out which Windows services are running in that process to try and help diagnose the problem.
So I created this tool, which will quickly show you a list of all Svchost.exe processes and show which services are running within each one.
Features :
Lists all Svchost.exe processes with their Process ID and lets you expand each one to view the Windows services running within
Can be run against the local computer or against a remote computer
Very simple user interface.

- Auslogics Task Manager

Auslogics Task Manager shows how much CPU, RAM, Disk Usage or Internet bandwidth is used by the processes running on your computer. The program will also show you the services and open files; you will be able to see which programs keep which files open. It can also help you to find trojans hiding in the legitimate processes, such as explorer.exe. The standard Windows Task Manager displays only a few applications and processes running on your computer. And it doesn't show Windows services at all, despite the fact that services you never use take up a lot of RAM and can slow down your PC. Auslogics Task Manager lets you manage applications, processes, Windows services, disk activity, and Internet traffic usage.

Jeefo Removal Tool is a lightweight utility that can help you clean the Win32.Jeefo.A malware from your system. This executable file infector is written in MinGW and presents a very interesting (and difficult to disinfect) infection technique. It contains various strings, encrypted with a trivial algorithm: .text:004012B0 decryption_loop: .text:004012B0 mov cl, [edx+ebx] .text:004012B3 dec cl .text:004012B5 mov [edx+eax], cl .text:004012B8 inc edx .text:004012B9 cmp edx, edi .text:004012BB jl short decryption_loop When an infected file is executed for the first time, the virus receives control and dumps a copy of itself in the Windows directory as svchost.

Computers can be really frustrating, especially when all of a sudden they become slow and start freezing up. Sometimes viruses and other malware can be the cause of this and if you don`t perform daily anti-virus scans, you might not discover the infection until it's too late. Another way of identifying malware is analyzing the list of running processes and finding out what each process does. But most likely it's legitimate Windows processes and applications making life difficult. Some processes, like svchost.exe or lsass.exe, are known to consume 80%-100% of CPU and some applications, like Firefox, can use large amounts of RAM.
