PomTray is a handy and reliable application designed to provide a Pomodoro timer in the system tray.

It simply displays an icon in the system tray with the initial text of "--". From the context menu, the user can start a new 25/5 cycle. The icon will display the remaining time, initially updating every 5 minutes. Once it reaches 10 minutes, it updates every minute.

At the 5 minute mark, it displays a dialog box telling the user to take a break. Another dialog is displayed once it reaches zero.

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that uses uninterruptable working periods followed by short breaks. The working periods are called "pomodoros." After a few pomodoros, you get a longer break.

You're free to choose timing that works for you, but the standard times are 25 minutes for a pomodoro, 5 minutes for a short break, and 30 minutes for a long break. You get a long break after 4 pomodoros. That means an entire cycle of pomodoros plus long break is 2.5 hours.

One cycle is all you generally need to get 8 hours worth of work done if you had done it on a normal schedule.
