User Phil Lewis reasonably modified my first script by using 'imtransform' instead of translation. Still, the problem with incorrect transformation of overlapping slices remained. Now, I modified it to calculate the offset by using 'SliceLocation' and not the 'InstanceNumber'. Also there is more returned information in the command window for the user, who can now select input and output directory. If there is more than one series in a input folder, this folder will be skipped. Also mixed modalities or modality different than CT, as well as Gantry-free files will not be transformed. If you have some specific need like transforming several series at the time or similar, feel free to contact me.

PhotoGrok uses Phil Harvey's excellent ExifTool utility to categorize photos and other file types by meta data. It runs on Java 5 and up but some features are only available in Java 6. It's been tested on Windows, Macintosh and Linux. PhotoGrok automatically includes ExifTool for Windows users. Others will need to have ExifTool installed on their machines.

As many of you know, Phil Harvey has written an excellent utility called Exiftool to read, write, and manipulate Exif data. Originally one had to install a Perl interpreter to use Exiftool. He subsequently made available a Windows executable version which did not require the installation of the Perl interpreter. I wrote a Windows front end for Exiftool which I've called ExifAuto. It simplifies the performance of some of the more common tasks one might want to perform with Exiftool. It's particularly useful for users of those models of Canon digital cameras which put the ISO data in an unconventional location which isn't accessed by programs which would otherwise read the ISO.

ExifMixer is companion/user interface to Phil Harvey's powerful console mode metadata reader/writer ExifTool. Contrary what ExifTool's name suggest, it can read/write much more types of metadata than EXIF. It can parse XMP, IPTC, ID3 tags of MP3 files and much more. ExifMixer allows you to group similar ExifTool command line switches into sets and construct complicated command lines easily by "mixing" these sets and calling ExifTool. By default ExifMixer runs ExifTool as hidden application and captures it's output, so it basically transforms ExifTool from console application to easy to use graphical application.
