- Biogenesis for Windows
- License: Freeware

Biogenesis simulates in a visual fashion the processes involved in the evolution of unicellular organisms at nature. It tries to be a didactic approximation to the ideas of mutation or evolution and can be enjoyed also as an entertainment. It's intended to serve as a support to show students some basic biological facts.
The idea of Biogenesis is taken from Primordial Life but it's an independent project.
Here are some of the main objectives that this project is trying to reach:
* The application should be multiplatform.
* There should exist translations in many languages.

- CisPlusFinder
- License: Freeware

CisPlusFinder predicts cis-regulatory modules based on perfect local ungapped sequences using comparative sequence data from multiple organisms. An overview of the CisPlusFinder can be found in the flowchart.tif file and is described in the following publication: Pierstorff, N., C.M. Bergman & T. Wiehe. (2006) Identifying cis-regulatory modules by combining comparative and compositional analysis of DNA. Bioinformatics 22:2858-2864. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17032682.

A software for the classification of organisms based on results from multiplex pyrosequencing algorithms performed on the Pyro-Mark ID System (Qiagen). The assays can be designed using the software mpsqed available from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mpsqed/
Pyrosequencing can be applied for Single-Nucleotide-Polymorphism (SNP)-based pathogen typing or for providing sequence information of short DNA stretches. However, for some pathogens molecular typing cannot be performed relying on a single SNP or short sequence stretch, necessitating the consideration of several genomic regions. A promising rapid approach is the simultaneous application of multiple sequencing primers, called multiplex pyrosequencing.

- bioValidator for Windows
- License: Shareware

bioValidator development is supported by the Moorea Biocode project through a grant by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and is meant to support large scale field data collection efforts for any biological organisms and any field expedition. We are striving to validate data at the source of data collection in a manner that is as easy possible for biologists yet maintains a core set of rules for your project. To this end, we have opted to push all data additions and editing to Microsoft Excel. To adapt bioValidator for your expedition, please contact one of the developers above. Included in bioValidator is a photo-matcher, which is a visual method for matching photos with spreadsheet elements and renames photos according to Collector's Specimen Numbers.
