Break the mold! Additive synthesis is capable of producing almost any kind of sound. Why continue using the same analog synths everyone else is using? Now is your chance to create something truly UNIQUE!
* Visually draw your own waveforms, timbral changes and filters. You can even load a .BMP file to use as a spectrum.
* Easily come up with new timbres and sounds by analysing .wav files. Load a .wav into the Formant Filter for a vocoded sound!
* Create sounds as wild as your Imagination. Additive synth is capable of reproducing realistic voices and accoustic instruments, analog sounds, vocoded sounds, FM sounds, ambient pads and more!
* Use the formant filter to immitate accoustic instrument body, analog filters, a human vocal tract, or other worldly resonances.

Additive Noise Channel / Additive Guassian Noise Channel is the simplest of all channels. File usage details: op_channel = additivenoise(input_signal) mathematical Model: s(t) input signal to channel (=sig_ip) n(t)additive random noise process added by channel (=noise_mat) a(t) attenutation factor , here it is taken as random(=att_fact) out put signal r(t) = a .* s(t) + n(t) an additional file named through_anc is there which shows 2 figures, 1. input signal 2. output signal.

- Noise Suppressor Using Adaptive Filters
- License: Freeware

This model uses the NLMS adaptive filtering algorithm to suppress additive noise. It does not require a reference noise signal. However, the noise should be such that the auto-correlation of the noise be close to zero for some lag greater than a certain number. This model implements the NLMS algorithm using Embedded MATLAB. There are two version of the model: One uses sample-based signals and the other uses frame-based signals..

- SPIDER simulation
- License: Freeware

This script simulates an electromagnetic pulse, a spectral phase interferometry for direct electric field reconstruction (SPIDER) measurement and reconstruction and compares it to the true electric field in time in the presence of noise (additive, multiplicative, quantative and in the delay). Play about with different values of the noise, different pulse parameters and compare the different reconstruction algorithms. Remember to change the filter to extract the complete sideband if you change the pulse to be measured..

- ECC Image Alignment Algorithm
- License: Freeware

This is a Matlab implementation of the forwards additive version of ECC image alignment algorithm based on the paper "G.D. Evangelidis, E.Z. Psarakis, Parametric Image Alignment using Enhanced Correlation Coefficient Maximization", IEEE Trans. on PAMI, vol. 30, no. 10, 2008. ECC algorithm is a gradient-based image registration algorithm. Although in this paper a two-case solution is presented, the implementation concerns only the first one, which is by far the most common case. Due to gradient information, ECC algorithm achieves high accuracy in parameter estimation (i.e. subpixel accuracy). Its performance is invariant to global illumination changes in images since it considers the correlation coefficient (zero-mean normalized cross correlation) as objective function.

A simple (monophonic) 5 oscillator additive synth (the first oscillator is the root - i.e. the input Frequency/MIDI note). Has a scope so you can see what kind of waveform you're creating, although this part wasn't coded particularly well, so it tends to slow down your GUI updates (although not your audio Playback, due to the way the VST standard works). It can be switched off by clicking on it, however..

- Colour Mixing
- License: Freeware

In this game there will be a colour shown and you need to create that colour by mixing the colours given. There are two scenarios, one is the use of additive colour mixing of lights, the other is the use of subtractive colour mixing of paints. When lights are mixed, their colours add up, for example, when red light and green light are added, yellow light is formed. When paints are mixed, their colours subtract from each other, for example, when yellow paint is mixed with cyan paint, green is formed. Click the colours to mix and then click OK to mix the colours. The faster you answer a question correctly, the higher your score.

This script is intended to illustrate the concepts of eyediagramm, constellation, ISI and to understand the effects of additive noise power, channel frequency band restriction, number of possible states within a symbol period, affecting the quality of the transmission. Three methods are employed for low-pass filtering: - classical low pass filter (actually two order Butterworth) creating ISI. - raised cosine filter in order to illustrate the possibility of suppress ISI . - Pseudo filtering by increasing risetime and falltime of ideal rawcode . Levels of signal transmitted as well as noise level are variables, allowing thus the possibility to show the effects of the number of states by symbole time on the possibility to recover without error the information in a given Signal/Noise environment.
