Software Listing: Change

It’s amazing how many times you will find yourself in a situation where you have to change or modify the dates for a file, such as the creation date, last modified date or the last accessed date! We are not really going to wonder WHY anyone would need to do this, but based on my own experience, we have found it very handy in certain circumstances (ahem)!
Changing the date on a file is actually quite complicated if you try to do it yourself, but thankfully there are a few really nice freeware applications that can get the job done for you quickly and easily. I’m going to quickly go through three different apps each that do pretty much the same thing, but I’d rather mention more than less just in case one does not work for you.

This plug-in helps to change attributes of different files and directories. It allows to change attributes of a group of files at once (the amount is not limited). It can also modify any date noted in characteristics of the file(s) of creation, last modified and last acsess dates.

Before opening this plug-in select needed file(s) or directory(ies) in the main program (by pressing "SPACE"). Then open Change Attributes in Plug-Ins menu.

Options:

Marking "Recurse subdirectories" means that all subdirectories and files of the chosen directories will have the attributes, set in options.

Change Extension is a SendTo folder utility for your windows computer. Have you ever had some file the you need to change the extension on. Just select the files you want to change or remove the extension on. Right click and seled Send to and ChangeExt.
You could also start the change ext program and select the file in the file selector dialog.

Change Extension utility can be used when :
you want to send a file that isn't allowed by you email provider
you want another program to open a specific file
you want to the remove the extension, or add an extension.
