The Matlab function convertToArb(data,samplerate,fName) function allows you to turn vector / array data into a waveform format that can be loaded onto Agilent's 3352xA function / arbitrary waveform generators (33521A one channel and 33522A two channel) This function converts a row or colunm vector into a 3352xA generator format .arb file (a waveform file that can be loaded onto the 3352xA). The input vector should contain values expressed in Volts not exeding the output limit of the generator. input argument 'data' is the vector containing the waveform points samplerate is the sample rate you would like to generate the values from the 'data' vector.

Smooths 2D array data. Ignores NaN's. function matrixOut = smooth2a(matrixIn,Nr,Nc) This function smooths the data in matrixIn using a mean filter over a rectangle of size (2*Nr+1)-by-(2*Nc+1). Basically, you end up replacing element "i" by the mean of the rectange centered on "i". Any NaN elements are ignored in the averaging. If element "i" is a NaN, then it will be preserved as NaN in the output. At the edges of the matrix, where you cannot build a full rectangle, as much of the rectangle that fits on your matrix is used (similar to the default on Matlab's builtin function "smooth"). "matrixIn": original matrix "Nr": number of points used to smooth rows "Nc": number of points to smooth columns.

This code runs through the data array twice, initially to parse the FORTRAN records to ensure the integrity of the data, and then to read in the data. The function automatically determines the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit data. Additionally, calling the function without an input argument will open a dialogue box which prompts the user to select a file. The header structure contains general information about the file as well as the time record header information. The dataheader structure contains the specific information about each data record. The Times array is an (n x 1) element array where the n is the number of time steps and the Data array is an (n x m) array where m is the number of data records.

This function enables you to directly write data from a cell array into a text file, which functions like FWRITE and FPRINTF do not. Usage: fwritecell(filename, format, data) writes cell array "data" to the file with name "filename" using the C language conversion specifications in argument "format". The conversion specifications are the same as those used by SPRINTF. fwritecell(filename, data) writes cell array "data" using a fixed width format padded with whitespace. The field widths are determined automatically. Note that the decimal point for floating point numbers may not be aligned within columns.
