You can also use ShellMenuView on Windows 98 for viewing the menu items list, but the disable/enable feature won't work on this version of Windows. (The disabling feature is achieved by adding 'LegacyDisable' key to the desired menu item in the Registry, and this Registry key is not supported by Windows 98). - Exploiting ThreadLocal to enhance scalability
- License: Shareware

The ThreadLocal class appeared with little fanfare in version 1.2 of the Java platform. While support for thread-local variables has long been a part of many threading facilities, such as the Posix pthreads facility, the initial design of the Java Threads API lacked this useful feature. Further, the initial implementation was quite inefficient. For these reasons, ThreadLocal gets relatively little attention, but it can be very handy for simplifying the development of thread-safe concurrent programs. This article examines ThreadLocal and offers tips for exploiting its power..

When the game progresses there will be more objects to click and there will be more different objects. If you cannot find the specified number of objects within a certain time limit, you lose the game. If you clicked a wrong object, scores will be deducted and the number of remaining seconds will also be deducted..

"According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, single-vehicle road departures result in many serious accidents each year. To reduce the likelihood of a vehicle's straying out of lane, automotive engineers have developed lane tracking and departure warning systems that use a small camera to transmit video information about lane markings and road conditions to a microprocessor unit installed on the vehicle. In this article, we show how Model-Based Design with Simulink and the Video and Image Processing Blockset can be used to design a lane-detection and lane-departure warning system, implement the design on a Texas Instruments DSP, and verify its on-target performance in real time.

"It takes from 10 to 15 years to bring a new drug to market?at a cost rapidly approaching $1 billion. A key contributor to these staggering costs is late-stage failure: Of every 250 compounds that enter preclinical testing, only five proceed into clinical trials, and only one will be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Many potential new drugs fail because researchers lack reliable information about their behavior. Pharmacokinetics focuses on how the body processes a drug, resulting in a drug concentration. Pharmacodynamics is concerned with how the drug acts on the body, resulting in a measurable drug effect.

This code implements two variations of the paper "High accuracy optic flow using a theory for warping" presented at ECCV 2004 by Dr. Thomas Brox. Its variants appeared in "Particle Video" presented at CVPR 2006 by Dr. Peter Sand. The files optical_flow_brox.m and optical_flow_sand.m are the files you need to run. optical_flow_brox.m implements the traditional algorithm. Just replace the first lines where images are read, with your image, and start the process. optical_flow_sand.m implements a variant presented in CVPR 2006. Again just replace the lines "img1 = imread('...')" and "img2 = imread('.

The first CNN appeared in the work of Fukushima in 1980 and was called Neocognitron. The basic architectural ideas behind the CNN (local receptive fields, shared weights, and spatial or temporal subsampling) allow such networks to achieve some degree of shift and deformation invariance and at the same time reduce the number of training parameters. Since 1989, Yann LeCun and co-workers have introduced a series of CNNs with the general name LeNet, which contrary to the Neocognitron use supervised training. In this case, the major advantage is that the whole network is optimized for the given task, making this approach useable for real-world applications.

You can enable Excel to respond to events that occur in your MATLAB based GUI by using MATLAB Builder for .NET to generate a COM component that incorporates an event source. You can freely redistribute generated COM components, making your graphical application available to users who do not have MATLAB installed...
