vold is a Volume Daemon for Linux that can automatically mount CD-Roms, Harddrives, USB Flash Sticks, iPods etc. It is also possible to identify Partitions by UUID or volumename and mount them in a pre-defined Folder. Aims to replace mounting by hand!.

Mount Image is a simple add-in for Windows 7 Media Center for displaying and mounting disc image files (i.e. ISOs) from the native interface, either Movie Library or Video Library. Most people recommend either 3rd party video libraries (Media Browser, OML, MyMovies, ...) and generally those are the easiest, but I thought I'd share another option that I use.

DAEMON Tools Lite is a virtual DVD-ROM emulator based on a SCSI miniport driver. It emulates max. 4 DVD-ROM drives and works with CD/DVD images created by many burning programs. It is great on notebooks without a physical CD-/DVD-ROM drive or to save akku power and speed up CD/DVD access. In opposite to other CD-/DVD-ROM emulators DAEMON Tools Lite doesn't use a proprietary container format. The advantage is that you can burn the images you're using with DAEMON Tools Lite right away or just test an image before burning it to see if it was created correctly.
