Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 Service Pack 1 (SP1) provides the latest performance, reliability, and security updates to the HPC Pack 2008 product. It is recommended for all users of HPC Pack 2008.

Instructions
- This service pack is applicable to any computer running the HPC Pack 2008 software, including head nodes, compute nodes, and computers running the client utilities.
- To start the download, click the Download button and then:
1) Click Save to copy the download to your computer.

- This update includes compatibility with the HPC Pack 2008 Service Pack 1 release.
- Microsoft HPC Server 2008 (HPC) provides secure, scalable cluster resource management, a job scheduler, and a Message Passing Interface (MPI) stack for parallel programming. HPC includes the Microsoft HPC Pack 2008 SDK that you can use to write client applications that interact with the job scheduler. You can use the SDK to schedule jobs on Microsoft HPC Server 2008 and later servers; you cannot use this SDK to schedule jobs on Microsoft Compute Cluster Server 2003 (CCS).

Five separate tools are available:

Lizard Updated: 8/19/2010 - Lizard helps you to determine the computational performance and efficiency that can be achieved by your HPC Pack 2008-based / Windows HPC Server 2008 cluster. It calculates and reports a peak performance value for your HPC cluster in billions of floating-point operations per second (GFLOPS), and a percentage value for the efficiency that was achieved at peak performance. After running Lizard, you can review the performance and efficiency results that were obtained, and optionally save these results and the parameters that were used to achieve them to a file on your computer.
