If you are one of the many millions who own a digital camera or a mobile phone with a camera on, chances are that you take many hundreds of pictures over the weeks and months. Many people then take these pictures and send them to family members and friends, upload them to social networking sites, or store them on their hard drives for safe keeping. However sometimes, digital photos aren’t quite practical, for example they are the wrong size, shape or format in order to work with. Using ReaConverter Pro helps you modify your images quickly so that they are easier to work with.

The first thing you need to do is import your images into ReaConverter Pro. This is really easy to do – all you have to do is use the menus near the top of the window to point ReaConverter to the correct folder which contains your images. This may be your Pictures folder, or a directory on your Digital Cameras memory card. Once there, you can select specific or all images to modify. Clicking Add file to list will move it to the right hand side of the window and shows they are imported and ready to be adjusted. Once ready, click Next Step.

There are three steps you can apply to your selected pictures here: adding a process, tuning up, and loading the test image. Using the action buttons at the top of Add Processing, you can select an action to add to the images, for instance adding a filter, or cropping it. Once the action has been selected, clicking it will bring up further options under the Tune Up section. Fine tune the process using the different options available to that process. One you have fine-tuned each process as you want, you can preview the image. I had to select the check box in the bottom right hand corner in order to enable image previewing. Once happy, click Next Step.

From here you need to tell ReaConverter Pro where you’d like your newly edited images to be exported to. This can be any folder location on your computer, or the same as where they were imported from. ReaConverter Pro can automatically move the original files for you if you’d like, overwrite them with the new ones, and more. From here you can also specify the output format, choosing from a large list of different options. If you want to specify how ReaConverter Pro should name the files, you can also do this.

ReaConverter Pro will start converting your images with the specified settings, showing a progress meter as it goes. Once done, you’ll be informed and able to view your pictures in your selected output location.

ReaConverter Pro is an easy utility to use to quickly adjust your images. Almost anyone could quite easily get to grips with it – even though jargon is used most users should be able to understand it without too many problems. The entire process is quite quick if you know how to use the software. For $24.95, it’s not going to break the bank, so may be worth considering purchasing if you’re going to get a lot of use out of the software. Overall, I’d rate it 3.5/5.
