Gone are the days of large media players which were bulky and required CDs and Cassettes. With the advent of iPod and other similar portable media players, the market of those bulky players is on the decline. Portable media players are the products which are popular among youth and are easy to carry as they easily fit in your pocket. However, they have limited storage which can easily become full, especially if you have large music collection. One solution is to delete the music which you no longer listen and other is to resize the size of each track so that space for more tracks can be vacated. Mp3Resizer is the software which is used to resize Mp3 tracks in a convenient way.

Mp3Resizer is a lightweight application that resizes the audio tracks sizes by changing their bitrate. It works with all variants of Windows starting from Windows 2000. Installation is pretty quick and hassle free and completes smoothly without any major user intervention. One annoying thing is that, every time it is launched, a popup appears asking to buy the product.

Interface of Mp3Resizer is quite simple and easy to use. On the right hand panel, options about the song quality and output folder selection are listed. The above pane is loaded with large icons covering all major functions of the program. Music addition to the interface is quite easy and can be done by adding folder(s) or file(s) separately or both. Once done with files and folder addition and quality settings, clicking the resize button would start the resizing process. Resizing does not take long, just around 15-20 seconds per track. It does depend on selected quality and duration and quality of initial mp3 file.

One of the remarkable features of this software is that it allows you to preview the track before actually converting them. This is actually very useful for striking the correct balance between size and quality. The only negative thing with this software is that it only supports one format and considering its price it’s extremely disappointing. Furthermore, it does not support conversion and other useful features that many free apps do perfectly.

Positive Points:

 -   Preview functionality allows users to strike right balance between quality and size.

Negative Points:
 -   It comes with a hefty price tag, considering it only offers Mp3 resizing.
 -   Supports only Mp3 format.

Conclusion:
Mp3Resizer is a simple and straightforward application which is extremely good at the job it is made for. However, it is pricey and offers only Mp3Resizing. It has a good interface which its users would love. There are many free products which can do resizing with many more formats and options, but not as simply as this one. If simplicity is required, affordability is not a concern and you only have to play with Mp3 files, it is an excellent choice; otherwise looking at free products like Audacity is suggested.
