MaxShredder is an application that will make sure your files are erased in such a manner that they are impossible to restore.
When you delete a file in Windows, it isn’t physically removed. The file is marked as deleted in the file allocation table, but it still exists on your hard disk. The file exists until another file overwrites it. Consequently, provided that you the right tools, you can restore files and sensitive information can then be lost.
When MaxShredder makes the files non-restorable, the file is overwritten in a particular pattern a certain amount of times. MaxShredder has various methods to choose from, depending on the level of security is desired.
Since deleting files with MaxShredder uses longer time than ordinary “unsafe” deletion, it’s recommended that you use MaxShredder only on files that contains sensitive information you don’t want others to get to. We don’t recommend using MaxShredder for uninstalling software, since they rarely contain information that can be misused.
It is important to remember that a file deleted with MaxShredder cannot be restored. Therefore, be careful not to delete the wrong files by accident.
