In 2007 I made ViStart, the most popular Vista start menu simulator. My vision was to prove that Vista functionality can be achieved in Windows XP. Soon, Windows 7 would be developed. Instead of simply tweaking the interface for ViStart I decided to rewrite the entire project from scratch with a new vision in mind. Although ViStart 7 comes with a Windows 7 skin, it is much more than simply a Windows 7 start menu simulator. I decided to write a new interface engine which would open up the start menu design and layout to theme creators.
