Breath of Fire, also known as Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior in Japan is the first entry in the Breath of Fire series of console role-playing games. Developed by Capcom in 1993 for the Super Famicom, it was licensed a year later by Squaresoft (now Square Enix) for release in North America. In 2001, Capcom independently re-released the game for the Game Boy Advance worldwide. It is notable for being the first role-playing game ever published by Capcom. Breath of Fire takes place in the years following a great civil war between the Light and Dark Dragon clans.

Drakkhen was originally a computer role-playing game developed by Draconian (Data East) for the PC. Created by French developers, it was later re-tooled in order to be released in the United States by MicroProse in 1990. Drakkhen was then ported to the Super Nintendo system by the Japanese company Kemco-Seika, who made further revisions to the game. Released in 1991, the Super Nintendo version's graphics, sound, and ease of play are arguably improved over previous releases. Drakkhen was notable for being among the first role-playing games to feature a three-dimensional playing field.

Our title character is Iysayana, the only elf in the small kingdom Ashford. For her, life is nothing but a great party. She really doesn't think about anything else than bashes, boys and booze - until now. The goddess Yw'nafob forces Iysayana to become a heroine and save Ashford from the evil Lord Shadmyr. The problem with it: First she must find out why Shadmyr is evil at all.
