Morse Code Tools is made out of two programs:
· Morse News sends news from one or more RSS or Twitter feeds as Morse code,
· Morse Keyer, an iambic / bug keyer with mouse & serial key / paddle.

Both play CW or sounder audio and drive external sounder, loop, or ham rig.

Morse Code Tools is an easy-to-use utility designed to periodically read an RSS feed and translate it into International or American Morse Code.

The translation is outputed as a beep or click / clack sound, or to a physical telegraph sounder connected to a serial port.

Learning morse code is hard, but this tool will break it into phases to make learning easier. In Play mode, simply type keys and the Cute CW engine will play what you type at the speeds set in the preferences dialog box. To begin your listening training, switch to one of the other modes. Generally you should follow the order in the mode menu. In Recognition Mode characters will be sent and you need to press the appropriate key before a minimum time period, defined by the training speed preference.

CWirc is a plugin for the X-Chat IRC client to transmit raw morse code over the internet using IRC servers as reflectors. The transmitted morse code can be received in near real-time by other X-Chat clients with the CWirc plugin. CWirc tries to emulate a standard amateur radio rig : it sends and receives morse over virtual channels, and it can listen to multiple senders transmitting on the same channel. Morse code is keyed locally using a straight or iambic key connected to a serial port, or using the mouse buttons, and the sound is played through the soundcard, or through an external sounder.
