FileList is a command line utility that produces a list of files of the given path in CSV format, which can be imported in a spreadsheet or database. The list includes the file name, size, path, last access and change date, etc..

The FileMonkey file operations package automates common file management tasks. HandyFileSearch program is intended to: (i) allow a user to quickly access files that the user remembers at least part of the name; (ii) quickly find a file by variety options (time, size, extension, location); (iii) find a file - binary or textual - containing combination of words or binary data (AND, OR, NOT, wildcards and regular expressions supported). The program allows a user to define several additional searching parameters (file size, creation time, extension, folder, etc.) to better restrict the number of results returned.

Fpart is a tool that helps you sort file trees and divide them into bags (called "partitions"). It is developped in C and available under the BSD license. It splits a list of directories and file trees into a certain number of partitions, trying to produce partitions with the same size and number of files. It can also produce partitions with a given number of files or a limited size. Once generated, partitions are either printed as file lists to stdout (default) or to files. Those lists can then be used by third party programs.

You can use Directory Monitor for the surveillance of certain directories and will notify you of file changes, deletions, modifications, and new files in real-time. You can optionally execute an application when a change occurs.
