The Autorun.inf Editor is a program that can be used to quickly and easily create autorun CD autorun.inf files. An autorun.inf file is a required file when creating an autorun CD. When a CD is put into the drive, the operating system looks for the autorun.inf file. If the file exists, it reads the file and then knows how to "autoplay" the CD. Disable Autorun is a free utility from Comfort Software Group which helps to selectively or completely disable all Autorun capabilities for computers that run Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 systems.

Autorun Eater was born due to the increase of malwares using the 'autorun.inf' method to infect users unknowingly be it from flash drives, removable hard disks or any other removable storage device. When a device is infected with a malware and an 'autorun.inf' file is dropped, the shell menu is normally modified to execute the malware whenever the unsuspecting user accesses the infected drive. Autorun Eater will warn you and remove any suspicious 'autorun.inf' files(based on user decision/settings) so that the malware is not executed while accessing the infected drive.

"Anti Autorun-7" make "vaccination" to a removable disk: create folder "autorun.inf" and "special" file which do not require space. You can set or remove protection and see information about removable disks. So virus on infected computer can not write "autorun.inf" file and infect any other computer when you plug in a removable disk. Periodically inspect your removable disks and delete unknown files and folders. Please note: "Anti Autorun-7" may not help you if removable disk already is infected and can not help if your computer is infected.
