User still can click, copy and paste e-mail address and does not know that it was encrypted. The most widely spread method to protect e-mail address is to transform it so only human can read it and make it unreadable for the robots. For example mailto:brandon@domain.com can be encrypted like this: mail_to_brandon_at_domain.com.
