Earn to die is a two dimensional driving game (by the simplest definition of driving game) that fits into the play upgrade play genre. You start out with just enough money to buy a vehicle, and once you buy your car you will have nothing left over for upgrades on your first run. The short term objective is to try and earn some money, as well as getting your car as far as you can, both of which sort of intertwine as the more money you acquire, the more you can upgrade your vehicle, which consequently means you will be able to go further and obtain more money. Or as the genre of the game puts it, play, upgrade, then play again.

The overall objective of the game is to escape the zombie infested canyon in as few days as possible. This is impossible at the start the game, as you have a very small amount of fuel and your first car will have very poor performance, so upgrading your car (and eventually buying a new one) is completely essential to actually completing the game, and the challenge in the game is deciding what to upgrade, and in what order to make the most money, and deciding the correct time to upgrade your vehicle to the next one.

The secondary objective to the game, which isn't particularly important on the first run, is to complete the game in as few days (separate attempts) as possible. This is a great extra feature to the game, as it gives it a massive amount of re-playability, as you can attempt to retry the game over and over again, taking different routes and strategies as far as upgrades go to try and find the best strategy to beat the game in as few days as possible. In addition to this, there is also a challenge mode, which will allow you to get even more replay value out of the game.

Overall, earn to die is an amazing game with a great deal of polish applied to it, and considering it was previously a flash game before becoming a downloadable game, the achievement of how well the game plays is even more significant. If you are looking for a fun game that you can come back to again and again to keep playing and improving your “score” on the game every time you play to become better and better every time.
