Coffeecup GIF animator is a cheap and simple way to learn the beginnings of animation.  On it you will be able to create and edit GIFs easily. Once opened it will guide you through the process of making simple GIFs. After a while, you will slowly progress and make more smooth and better animated GIFs. With the accessibility of using any file extensions and the ability to constantly preview the GIF you are producing, you should pick up the skills of animating rather quickly.

Coffeecup GIF animator has video import support meaning you are able to import videos and create a GIF with a selection of frames from the video, though this is something you expect so nothing to be automatically impressed by. Coffeecup does make life easier, as it generates HTML codes for your GIFs so you can place them on websites without having to create your own coding. Another thing I liked about this piece of software was how easily you can make a transparent background, which with other animating programs I find to be a real annoyance! Throughout the process of making your GIFs, a preview screen is open so you can constantly look at it whilst editing, ensuring the GIF is perfect at every frame. I find this feature really useful, it makes it really quick and easy to constantly check your work, if you make any mistake you will easily notice it.

Coffeecup GIF animator has the ability to convert pretty much all types of pictures/videos into GIFs, whether it be; JPEG, PNG, ICO and many other extensions. Thus, you don't need to worry about what types of pictures you can use with this program. If you want to double check what file types are accessible with Coffeecup, simply Google it and you will easily find a list. Coffecup can turn .AVI files into GIFs, meaning you are able to turn lower quality videos into GIFs. This is okay for beginner animators, however those whom are alot more advanced at the skill may find this abit annoying as they cannot use anything of a higher quality. Coffecup GIF animator can only support videos of up to 500KB which is extremely little. This means the videos you are able to use in Coffeecup must be short and a very low quality. I find this extremely sad as it means you are not able to make any high quality gifs.

Overall, Coffeecup GIF animator has potential. It has the ability of using most file types meaning users do not have to worry about their pictures having the wrong extensions. However, the issue of not being able to use high quality or long lengthed videos really limits the user when making GIFs. Alot of GIFs used today has been made from high quality videos or films, and so not being able to make these kinds of GIFs is a real disappointment. I rate this GIF animator 2/5 shearly due to it not being able to use high quality videos, I only suggest those whom are beginners to download this program.
