	Foto Filer was built out of the necessity to assign meaningful names to photos captured and then downloaded from digital cameras to the PC. No commercially available software provides such a simple way to assign a name to a photograph as the Foto Filer approach does. And Foto Filer does not utilize a proprietary software database allowing the user to share a renamed photo with someone on another computer. When a photo is downloaded from the camera to the PC, the name assigned to the photo by the camera (manufacturer) is the same name assigned the photo when stored on the PC. Unless somewhere along the line it is changed, the name of the photo will have no bearing on what the photo represents. Soon the collection of photos on the PC looks like grandmas collection of photos in the shoebox. Foto Filer provides the means to make this name...
