Actual Title Buttons
Actual Title Buttons Editor's Review
Actual Title Buttons surprised me - I thought it was going to turn out to be one of those applications which look interesting or useful, but actually turn out to be pretty useless. In the eyes of the developers, the Windows title bar just isn't powerful enough, so Actual Title Buttons was created, which adds extra functionality to the title bar, in the form of additional buttons. It also includes a few extra features too, which would be most helpful for Windows XP users.
The first main thing you notice after installing Actual Title Buttons is that additional buttons within the title bar, on the left of the normal Close, Maximize and Minimize buttons. The new button fit perfectly into Windows XP’s Luna theme, as well as the Windows Standard theme, and appear as if they are in fact part of the Windows system, rather than a separate third party application. The buttons are all controlled in the applications Settings, which is the most powerful part of the program.
Settings can easily be accessed by double clicking on the Actual Title Buttons system tray icon. There are many different categories and subsections of settings available to personalize and change. The main settings that interested me were enabling and disabling buttons that perform different functionalities. What also impressed me was that you can enable specific settings for certain applications, allowing you to incorporate your most frequently carried out actions and functions into the title bar of certain programs. As well as many other settings, you can also change the look of the buttons slightly.
Actual Title Buttons also brings with it a load of new Hotkeys, which may be a bit more handy for keyboard ‘shortcutters’, rather than a set of new title bar buttons. These can be totally customized too, but by default are already assigned preset key combinations, most of which use the Windows key. These shortcuts perform the same functions as the buttons would if clicked.
Further more, Actual Title Buttons gives the user other slightly options and effects to apply to Windows, for example, displaying the window position when dragging it around the screen, and enabling entire window transparency, plus a few more. It also brings the Windows 7, 8 & Ubuntu window snapping feature to Windows XP, where dragging a window to the left or right will ‘snap it’ to that side, or dragging to the top maximizes it.
Actual Title Buttons has many little features that come together to create a great utility for your system. Its trial mode is more than long enough for you to fully test it and work out whether its a good investment for you. I really liked Actual Title Buttons and would definitely recommend trying it out. It does a little bit more than it may seem! Overall, I’d rate it 4.3/5.
Actual Title Buttons Publisher's Description
Actual Title Buttons is a suite of the most essential and popular tools for desktop windows control and manipulation: minimize them to tray, set up priority, apply transparency, make them stay always-on-top of other windows, align, resize, roll up and even "ghost" them! You can do any of these advanced operations in a mouse click on the title bar icons that are added to standard Minimize/Restore/Close buttons immediately after installation. Furthermore, users are welcome to make up and apply their own window settings which are also done in a mouse click.
Installation, as well as the use of the program, is extremely easy and does not require much time. Once installed, Actual Title Buttons adds its own buttons to the title bar of each window (each button represents a particular function - for example, roll up or align) and provides the list of predefined functions. Actual Title Buttons is useful for those who favor the mouse over the keyboard and want to improve their work\'s efficiency. The special design of the program makes it quick and convenient to operate desktop windows in a mouse click (nevertheless, there is an opportunity to use the hotkeys).
Actual Title Buttons is irreplaceable when you have to work with numerous applications at once switching from one to another, which is very annoying and frustrating. Moreover, it becomes quite difficult to distinguish between minimized programs as they get the taskbar piled up. Actual Title Buttons enables you to forget that chaos and proceed with your work not being disturbed by windows mess on the desktop.
